Region Africa Middle East (RAME) - Headquarters Session 2012
The Meeting of FIATA’s Region Africa and Middle East (RAME) was held during the FIATA Headquarters Session 2012 on the 16th of March 2012 at the Swissôtel in Zurich-Oerlikon/Switzerland.
The Regional Meetings' primary goal is to bring forward the regional issues, preparing them for discussion in the Institutes and technical bodies of FIATA. This helps to identify and assist regional members in solving their local industry problems. It is also an occasion for regional networking, this happens twice a year, at the HQ Session in Zurich and at the annual FIATA World Congress.
RAME delegates expressed their intention to become more actively involved in the Advisory Bodies, Institutes and Working Groups of FIATA.
On demand of the RAME associations and as well of the individual members of RAME, Johannesburg/South Africa will be the host for the next "RAME Field Meeting", which will be held as from 25 and 26 June 2012. On this occasion, the RAME members will have a good time frame to bring forward and discuss their local respective country issues.
At the Zurich meeting, the Chairman was happy to announce that a candidate from Egypt has the big chance to become the Young Freight Forwarder of the Year by participating in the final selection in Los Angeles in October.
After the excellent presentation made by Tanzania, the FIATA Foundation Vocational Training was happy to announce that the selected country for the East African Project to host the next TOT ((Train of Trainer's) is Tanzania.
The Chairman of RAME, Mr Issa Baluch, said when he emerged from an intense meeting that even exceeded its allotted time: "We have the intention to attract more individual members in all countries. Only with more national associations and more individual members, the RAME Region will be become stronger in FIATA and will provide its constituency with a real interactive platform for better knowledge, better collaboration and - at the end of the day - better business."
